This site has lots of free test prep options available. You can take a free SAT published by the College Board and receive a score report which shows your scores and how you did on all sections of the test. The cool thing about the score report is that you can click on any of the questions and get a videotaped explanation of how to answer the question correctly. Also available in the free demo section is a video vocab section with links to some hilarious You Tube Videos. Pretty effective learning tool. The paid part of the site is very slick. It has the highest money-back guarantee available- 200 points. It has hundreds of videos with teachers explaining all the topics tested on the SAT. Much better than written explanations. It’s computer adaptive so it gives you lessons based on your particular strengths and weaknesses. The paid section also gives you access to videotaped explanations to every question from the College Board’s official SAT Study Guide. Very likeable instructors.
Eprep

Eprep is a video based course which also provides prep classes for the PSAT, ACT, and SSAT. It has a 7 day free trial period so you can try out the course before you commit to it. During the 7 day trial period you can take a practice test and get explanations to all the questions on the test. Eprep offers a “Wordsmith” vocabulary program which seems to be very effective but is pretty bland. The premise of the course is that you can watch the teacher solve practice questions on camera. It films the guy working out the questions on paper. This site offers a guarantee, sort of. If you don’t raise your scores a certain amount (100-250 points) you get to do more work for free. One downside is that the teacher is pretty dry. Overall- effective but a little boring.

These guys are the “new kids on the block.” Site was started by a former big-wig with Kaplan. The course lets you watch live online classes and ask live questions. They don’t hold the live classes too often, but if you miss one, you can watch a canned version. Supplemental on demand videos are also available. Teachers seem to be likeable and approachable. Knewton offers a money back guarantee to students who fail to raise their SAT scores by at least 150 points.

Test Masters offers online and live courses at many locations throughout the US. This Texas based company has a 300 point SAT improvement guarantee, but not a money-back guarantee. Students can take the class again for free. Like so many online courses, the content is extensive but the teachers very nerdy. No free trial offered. Much of the course work relies on the College Board’s Official SAT Study Guide.
